China Duty-Free Group, whose duty-free stores in Hainan include the Haikou Meilan Airport Duty-Free Shop, Haikou Riyue Plaza Duty-Free Shop, Sanya International Duty-Free City and Qionghai Boao Duty-Free Shop, announced the addition of 11 "pick-up windows" for duty-free shoppers on Feb 23.

Following the opening of the Xinhai Port Duty-Free Pick-Up Center on Feb 23, the number of pick-up windows serving duty-free shops has increased to 22, and the pick-up areas for individual customers have been integrated into one. This is expected to offer shoppers more convenient services and improve their shopping experience.

Since the implementation of the new duty-free policies, Hainan has seen a robust increase in duty-free shopping. To shorten the timescale for customers when picking up their goods, the operating companies are striving to expand the pick-up area, optimize the pick-up process, increase staff, and improve logistics distribution capabilities.

The island province has also launched "mail and delivery" services and announced policies enabling Hainan islanders to pick up their duty-free goods, purchased before departure, when they return, thus relieving pick-up pressure during peak periods.
