Students arrive at new campus in Hainan’s key industrial park

On November 13, the new Binhai Campus in the Lingshui Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone, one of the 11 key industrial parks in China’s southern province of Hainan, opened and welcomed a group of teachers and students from the Coventry College of Communication University of China.
With a planned area of 12.72 square kilometers, Lingshui Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone is known as the only key industrial park on the island dedicated to the development of the international education industry. A total area of 5.81 square kilometers in the pilot area (the first phase) is designed with education and living facilities that will accommodate more than 30,000 students.
According to Luo Qing, head of the Lingshui International United College, the pilot area aims to enable students to enjoy top-notch international education resources and obtain both Chinese and foreign diplomas in one location, without having to travel abroad.
So far 22 prestigious universities from China and around the world have decided to host education programs in the pilot area, including 10 domestic universities (Peking University, Southeast University, University of Electronic Science & Technology of China, Nankai University, Communication University of China, Beijing Sports University, Central University for Nationalities, Southern University of Science & Technology, Beijing University of Posts & Telecommunications, and Tongji University) and 12 international universities (Michigan State University, Rutgers University, and the New York Film Academy from the United States; Coventry University, Abertay University, the University of Glasgow, and the Queen Mary University of London from the United Kingdom; HEC Paris from France; the University of Alberta from Canada; the University of Lisbon from Portugal; Stockholm School of Economics from Sweden; and City University of Macau).
Over ten schools in the pilot area have opened for the fall semester, including the Coventry College of the Communication University of China; Glasgow College of the University of Electronic Science & Technology of China; Queen Mary College of London, Beijing University of Posts & Telecommunications; and Alberta College of the Beijing Sport University, with majors on offer ranging from electronic communications engineering, smart digital creativity, information & communication, tourism management, leisure & rehabilitation, and more.
