Hainan to offer 30,000 job vacancies for global talent

At a press conference held on March 30 in Haikou, Hainan provincial government announced that it will first provide more than 30,000 job vacancies for talented individuals from home and abroad this year as a step to gather greater manpower to help build Hainan Free Trade Port.

Hainan introduced a plan in May 2018, to woo a million talented individuals from home and abroad by 2025, offering them preferential policies including loans, free housing and other welfare arrangements.

Opening the economy wider is conducive to protecting the legitimate interest of foreign companies and to stabilizing foreign investment, Zhang said.

According to the notice, the ministry urged efforts to facilitate resumption of work at foreign companies with targeted measures to address their difficulties, and further advance major foreign-invested projects.

It also stressed innovative methods to attract foreign capital such as through major fairs and exhibitions and online channels, optimizing the business environment and government services.

This year's first recruitment plan provides a large number of high-level talent posts from government organs, public institutions, State-owned enterprises, industrial parks, legal institutions and private companies.

Government officials said the number of posts provided by the modern service, tourism and high-tech industries exceeds 60 percent of the total, with annual salaries for 1,717 high-end talent posts in education, medical treatment and tourism promised to reach 300,000 yuan and those for 59 high-end talent posts promised to be as high as above 1 million yuan.

They said high-end talent is in dire need in Hainan's key industrial parks such as Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone and Haikou Jiangdong New District, where 3,126 positions are open to talented job seekers.

The recruitment plan also offers 470 positions for international talent specializing in foreign language instruction, aircraft flight and maintenance, and hotel management.

All applications are to be made online from March 31 to April 30 this year at http://www.contacthainan.gov.cn.
