Switzerland will serve as the guest of honor at the first China International Consumer Products Expo which is due to be hosted in May this year, according to reports from Hainan Daily on Jan 27.

The China International Consumer Products Expo will be a grand event for Switzerland, and being made the guest of honor for the expo displays the friendship between China and Switzerland, according to Swiss Ambassador to China Bernardino Regazzoni.

The holding of the expo is important to global enterprises. It can be seen that the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the pace of China's integration into the world are accelerating, he added.

The ambassador said that Switzerland plays a crucial role in the international luxury goods industry, and that "Made in Switzerland" signifies an excellent reputation, quality and tradition.
