During Paris Fashion Week on March 11, famed fashion design brand Véronique Leroy released their 2025/26 fall and winter series at the Le Réfectoire des Cordeliers in the heart of Paris. The main theme of the collection is Hainan's Li Brocade culture, attracting the fashion world's attention through the unique weaving techniques and symbolic patterns of this intangible cultural heritage art. This marks an important step on Li Brocade's commercial fashion journey.

Patterns are the classic design language of Li Brocade. In the newly released collection, Véronique Leroy made use of several classic Li Brocade patterns including the dog, Gangong bird, pigeon, and traditional Dalishen (God of Strength) patterns, which were combined with clothing with a 3D reconstruction style in the brand's signature earthy and soft grey tones. Through a variety of fashion techniques including deformation, magnification, and deconstruction, this fashion collection combines the allure of the East with the elegance of the French.

Belgian designer Véronique Leroy founded her eponymous fashion brand in Paris in 1991, quickly earning a place in the international fashion industry. Her designs are known for a highly recognizable visual language as well as a unique use of fabrics, melding the elegance of classic French fashion with the independent aura of urban women.

After the fashion show, two intangible cultural heritage representatives from Hainan’s Wuzhishan City gave a Li Brocade weaving demonstration on site, giving attendees a glimpse of the high skill level and cultural depth of this ancient art.

Véronique Leroy has recently paid special attention to the 'action' of weaving Li Brocade by hand, incorporating a subtle sense of rhythm into the structure of the clothing she designs, bringing new life to this ancient textile technique. The brand also teamed up with Li Brocade artisans in Wuzhishan, Hainan to create unique lifestyle products such as pillows that combine hand-woven Li Brocade with kapok fiber fillings.

According to a representative of the Li Brocade Elements (Hainan) Technology Company, which brought Li Brocade to the Paris Fashion Week stage, Li Brocade has an inherent value that attracts many fashion designers. The company has set up a database of Li Brocade patterns and is working with well-known clothing brands on their design application and commercial development.

Last September, Hainan Li Brocade was also part of the Paris Fashion Week. At that fashion show, internationally known fashion designer Vivienne Tam released her 2025 Spring/Summer 'La Li — Hainan Breeze' collection, which drew inspiration from the lush tropical rainforests of Hainan's Wuzhi Mountain, officially releasing ten independently designed fabrics featuring Li Brocade elements and flinging wide the door to the international market with a resounding welcome for Li Brocade.
