The Hainan Free Trade Port is taking shape as policies promoting "zero tariffs" and "low tax rates "continue to deliver benefits, Yu Wenzhong, deputy director of the Office of the Free Trade Port Working Committee of the Communist Party of China Hainan Provincial Committee, said on Wednesday.

In order to propel the musical arts communication between Hainan and the world and promote the development of Hainan's cultural arts and performing market, the province formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philadelphia Orchestra on November 10 to establish sustainable artistic cooperation including diversified activities such as the Philadelphia Orchestra Musical Week.

In an interview with HIMC, Fang Dongming (UBS Head of China Global Markets) expressed high praise and hopes for Hainan's ongoing development as a free trade port. A seasoned professional who closely monitors and has done extensive work in China's financial market, Fang elaborated on the unique draws and boundless potential of Hainan Free Trade Port.

In a significant move towards advancing green energy solutions, Siemens Energy has officially launched its Hainan Innovation Center in Yangpu. Located in Danzhou in the western part of China’s Hainan Province, this new center focused on fostering international collaboration in the energy sector aims to become a hub for high-level talent exchange, and is set to play a key role in supporting Hainan’s development as a “clean energy island.”

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United Arab Emirates, the Management Committee of the Yangpu Economic Development Zone, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, COSCO SHIPPING Ports（Abu Dhabi）Limited and Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding in Abu Dhabi on September 20, further deepening cooperation between the Hainan Free Trade Port and other free trade zones and ports around the world.

The Haikou National High-tech Zone, an important part of Hainan’s biomedicine industry, is a leader in the area of production and manufacturing. The combined power of the Lecheng Pilot Zone and the Haikou National High-tech Zone multiply the effectiveness of Hainan’s entire biomedical industry.

Recently, China’s southern province of Hainan issued the first China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement Certificate of Origin for a shipment of double-sided coated paper worth about 1.78 million yuan ($0.25 million) produced by Hainan Jinhai Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. This certificate entitles the company to a reduction of around 17,800 yuan ($2,455) in Serbian import tariffs.

FLY3, designated this year by the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) as Sanya's official "never-ending consumer products expo" site, means "fly to Sanya" ("3" is pronounced "san" in Chinese), and somewhere consumers can buy goods and experience cultures from around the globe.
