/ 2025-09-17 18:06 / News

Going global is one of the core themes in the development path of the Hainan Free Trade Port. In recent years, Chengmai County in Hainan has taken on "global game publishing," "data export," and "cross-border e-commerce" as key starting points, building the distinctive brand of "Go Global via Chengmai." Shaopeng reports.

Recently, themed with "Connect with the World, Move Toward the Future," the International Cross-Border Live Streaming Industry Conference was held in Chengmai. During the event, a cross-border e-commerce live streaming base was officially inaugurated. On the same day, 20 companies and 6 foreign streamers signed agreements to settle in the base.

QUEEN Foreign Streamer "Benefits that we got to have was getting our papers done, like the visa, work visa, the work permit, and also another thing is the housing subsidy as well. So those are really great benefits for us, and it's much easier to actually get it done in this part of China. So we are really in support of the free trade policy."

SHARON Foreign Streamer "I chose to work in Hainan because Chengmai has got great support for e-commerce and I've always wanted to grow in it. And then also Chengmai is beautiful and it's a very beautiful place to live and work in and the people are so friendly."

As of now, Chengmai hosts 3,597 businesses involved in live streaming, including 1,376 registered enterprises. Three years ago, Chuangchen Chuhai selected Chengmai as the hub for its global strategy, building a highly efficient live streaming matrix at its core. The company has brought together over 30 foreign streamers fluent in multiple languages and attracted more than 200 high-quality firms focused on expanding into overseas markets. This setup provides a one-stop global expansion platform, offering "localized" marketing to help Chinese products gain popularity worldwide.

LIU XIANYI Foreign Human Resources Director, Hainan Chuangchen Overseas Enterprise Service Co. Ltd "We chose to set up in Hainan because the cross-border live streaming pipeline here allows us to access foreign networks legally and compliantly without additional tools. This also ensures network stability, enabling us to enter overseas markets with lower costs and higher efficiency."

As one of the first regions in China to pilot "global game publishing," Chengmai has developed the "app-free" global game publishing platform PlayOL. Currently, the Laocheng Science and Technology New City has attracted over 2,000 game companies, including Tencent and Century Huatong. In the past two years, it has secured approval for 160 game licenses, ranking fifth in China for two consecutive years. Its games have reached players across six continents and 148 countries and regions.
