Hainan Signs a MOU with Philadelphia Orchestra

In order to propel the musical arts communication between Hainan and the world and promote the development of Hainan's cultural arts and performing market, the province formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philadelphia Orchestra on November 10 to establish sustainable artistic cooperation including diversified activities such as the Philadelphia Orchestra Musical Week.

From November 9 to 10, the Philadelphia Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor Marin Alsop played two concerts in Haikou. Showing off the glorious and powerful "Philadelphia sound," these performances were not only the Philadelphia Orchestra's first visit to Hainan, but also an important milestone of Hainan's international cultural exchange.
One of the top orchestras in the world, the Philadelphia Orchestra brought the Hainan audience an audio-visual feast with superb artistic standards and deep musical culture. At the same time, they also helped to improve Hainan's international visibility and cultural soft power.
