HIIFF announces Golden Coconut Award jury
The 6th Hainan Island International Film Festival will take place from Dec. 4-10 in Sanya, Hainan. On Dec. 1, this year’s Golden Coconut Award jury was announced, and includes a total of thirteen domestic and international film professionals such as acclaimed French director Luc Besson and popular Chinese actress Xu Fan.
The categories for this year’s Golden Coconut Award are Feature Films, Feature Documentaries, and Short Films. The Feature Film category will be presided over by French director Luc Besson as Chairman of the Jury, with Italian cinematographer Paolo Carnera, French director and screenwriter Olivier Megaton, Chinese actress Xu Fan, Chinese actor Wang Jingchun, Chinese actor Zhang Yi, and Argentine director & producer Laura Citarella serving as jury members.
The Documentary Film jury includes Chinese director and screenwriter Ju Anqi, Canadian director, screenwriter, and producer Yung Chang, and Miguel Ribeiro, artistic director of the Portuguese Film Festival.
The Short Film jury will be composed of Chinese director and screenwriter Li Ruijun, Chinese screenwriter Baojingjing, and Italian animator and director Margharita Guisti. During the film festival, the juries will determine the winners of the ten Golden Coconut awards, which will be announced at the Closing Ceremony & Golden Coconut Award Ceremony on Dec. 10.
