Hainan Winter Fun Heats Up
Winter is here and while north China has entered a period of extreme cold, the weather in tropical southern Hainan Province is still sunny and welcoming, providing an excellent venue for a wide variety of cultural activities. Across the island, there are grand exhibitions opening, sports events being held, music festivals and concerts filling the air with melodies, and many more thrilling activities providing entertainment for everyone. Let's take a peek into what's going on this winter in Hainan's cultural tourism market.
International Jewelry Fair
Hainan is emerging as a leader in the jewelry consumer market. From Dec. 19 to 22, the 2024 Global Gems & Jewelry Development Conference & Hainan International Jewelry Fair is being held in Haikou.
This year's exhibition space measures a total of 25,000 square meters, with twelve special exhibition areas including brand, diamond, and gold exhibition areas. In addition to the launch of a wide variety of new jewelry products, the event also includes several industry development conferences and forums addressing many areas of the jewelry industry.
Representatives of the World Jewelry Federation, the World Gold Council, and other international organizations such as the Natural Diamond Council as well as industry leaders from Italy, the UK, the US, Spain, Myanmar, Singapore, and other countries and regions are expected to attend in order to exchange the latest global jewelry industry news and explore new win-win cooperation opportunities.

Qionghai Boao Marathon 2024
On Dec. 22, the eastern coastal city of Qionghai will hold its very first marathon. Runners will set off from the site of the Boao Forum for Asia, and pass by the China (Hainan) Museum of the South China Sea, the Bo’ao Book House, and many other scenic attractions, getting an up-close look at the stunning coastal scenery of the city.

Prize money totals nearly 200,000 yuan ($27,448), with the top individual prize coming in at 10,000 yuan. Runners from China, the US, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Papua New Guinea have signed up for the race.

International Motorcycle Roundabout Carnival
The 2nd Hainan International Motorcycle Roundabout Carnival will be held from Dec. 31, 2024 to Jan. 5, 2025. This year’s event will bring together motorcycle enthusiasts and travelers from across China in Hainan to rev up their engines and enjoy the scenic beauty of the province as they roar across the island.
The Carnival riders will take a tour of Danzhou, Sanya, Wuzhishan, and Haikou as they take a unique route around the island and enjoy the beautiful Hainan scenery and look up at the blue skies, feel the breezes as they rustle through the palm leaves, and take a spin through the rainforest. The event will also include quite a few activities including a colorful motorcycle party, a New Year’s Eve concert, a fireworks show, a count down to the new year, and a Li culture-themed bonfire party.
