Haikou Customs has reported a total of 3.08 billion yuan in duty-free shopping transactions under the "Buy and Pick-Up" model as of this year. These transactions involved 1.57 million shoppers and 3.49 million items, highlighting the growing popularity of this convenient shopping option.

The "Buy and Pick-Up" policy allows departing travelers to purchase duty-free goods within set limits. Travelers can choose from 15 categories of goods (each priced below CNY 20,000, excluding tax), and immediately pick up their items after payment without going through customs verification at departure. This streamlined process significantly enhances the shopping experience.
"During this trip to Sanya, it happened to be my child’s birthday. Using the 'Buy and Pick-Up' service, I bought a LEGO set my child wanted at the duty-free shop," shared Ms. Ye, a shopper traveling with her family. "It was very convenient to get the gift right away, making my child’s birthday even more special."
