International IP conference set to open in Hainan on Dec. 20
The 2024 Hainan International Intellectual Property Trade Conference is set to open on Dec. 20 in Haikou, the capital city of south China's Hainan Province. This year’s conference will last for three days and will include high-level forums, keynote speeches, round-table dialogues, and other activities, with top domestic and international experts and scholars invited to deliver speeches and conduct in-depth discussions.
There will be a total of 38,000 square meters of exhibition space at the event, with four main exhibition areas themed around IP rights, copyrights, geographical indications, and cultural & creative exhibitions, showcasing the latest IP innovations from within China and all around the world in the areas of the internet, AI, and more. The conference will cover a wide variety of topics, with attendees and IP innovations from the US, Belgium, Japan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and other areas.
Twelve forums will be held during the conference, including the International Intellectual Property Protection and Innovation Forum, the Academic Annual Meeting of the China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS), and the Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Innovation Forum, where IP experts and representatives of the publishing industry will exchange views on the protection, application, and management of IP rights.
Universities and colleges are key sources of innovation and talent, and produce a large number of breakthroughs in the field of IP rights. This year’s conference will display scientific and technological innovations achieved at Tsinghua University, Hainan University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and several other excellent universities and research institutes. Hainan University, for example, will exhibit over 40 projects on topics such as the internet, AI, aviation & aerospace, ocean fishing, new methods of agriculture, and more.
The conference is jointly hosted by Hainan University and the Copyright Society of China, with the goals of creating a globally influential IP cooperation platform, further enhancing Hainan's international influence in the field of intellectual property, and bringing more domestic and international innovation resources to Hainan.
