Folk Activities
Fully utilizing and inheriting local folk cultural resources, Hainan's tourism and culture departments are holding numerous activities including the 17th Evergreen Park Spring Festival Lantern Display, Fucheng Flower Exchange Festival, a Lantern Festival Garden Party, special “Qiong Opera to the Masses” neighborhood performances, and an Intangible Cultural Heritage series of New Year’s activities. At the same time, cultural institutions such as the provincial museum and the South China Sea Museum have also launched folklore-related exhibitions and activities including social education activities like "Celebrating the New Year at the South China Sea Museum" where— via interactive methods such as guessing lantern riddles and making glutinous rice balls—participants will be able to feel the charm of traditional culture in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
While this is going on—and in order to enrich the winter travel experience of the snowbirds who have come to Hainan from all over China—the island’s tourism and culture departments have launched fifty high-quality tourist routes covering city walks, natural scenery, family friendly fun, health and wellness, and cultural experiences.
