As a trending tourism destination, south China's Hainan Province has been attracting a large number of tourists from home and abroad every year. With the implementation of visa-free policies, the inbound tourism market has been further boosted. Let us follow tour guides, both from Hainan and Malaysia, to know more about the tourism market in Hainan.
Lisa Sansha TV Reporter "This is Lisa, SSTV's correspondent in Malaysia. So do Malaysians like to travel to China? Is it convenient to travel to China with its very new visa policy? Without further ado, let me and my colleague Liao Zhu in Haikou take you from Kuala Lumpur to Haikou to answer those questions!"
Dylan Cham Tee Loon is a tour guide in Malaysia and has been taking tour groups to Hainan for about four or five years now. Each trip brings him fresh experiences. He mentioned that Hainan's 59-country visa-free policy has made leading groups a lot smoother and more seamless.
Dylan Cham Tee Loon Tour Guide in Malaysia "The visa-free policy really helps us to promote the tourism industry. There is another policy. We can use Alipay APP to link to e-wallet after arrival."
We drove to the train station, and by the time we arrived at the airport, it was nearly five o'clock.
Tiah Shyh Huey Tourist "I never visited Hainan Island before. When I was young, I remember my grandpa would talk about it. He couldn't make the trip himself, so I'm going to do it to fulfill his wish."
And just like that, we're halfway through our "Between the Cities" adventure. Zhu, I'm curious how things will unfold for them once they get to Hainan?
Usually, when tour groups fly in from Malaysia to Hainan, local guides take over some of the work. Lu Xiaoqiang, who headed out with Dylan in the same car, is responsible for looking after some of the travelers.
Liaozhu Sansha TV Reporter "After the Visa-free policy, do you see increasing tourists from Southeast Asia?"
Lu Xiaoqiang Tour Guide "I used to take 2-3 groups a month at most. But now I'm handling 5-6."
Liaozhu Sansha TV Reporter "You got off the plane, arrived at the arrival hall, and it only took you 10 minutes to get through the customs."
David Chu Tourist "Yes, it was around 10 minutes."
This journey will take them from Haikou to Sanya, exploring Hainan's famous attractions. Regardless of their reasons, this tropical land of Hainan will become an unforgettable chapter in their lives, filled with cherished memories and dreams, leaving a lasting impression.
