The Mingchang Tower was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and is located on the west bank of the Meishe River, Guoxing Avenue, Haikou City. It was once known as the "First Tower of Qiongzhou". After the Mingchang Tower was completed, Qiongya literati and writers gathered here. They often set up seats to drink in the tower, and brought the wine to the wind and overlooked it. It carries the memories of many old Haikou people, and also inherits the Qiongtai culture. The Mingchang Tower has suffered severe damage,and was rebuilt in 2018.
